DISTRICT-WIDE PLANNING

SOCCCD has undergone an extensive planning effort in order to meet both short term and long term goals. A District-wide Planning Manual has been developed with three major planning documents.

PLANNING AND DECISION MAKING MANUAL 2011-2014 – This document describes how decisions get made, how budgets are developed and linked to planning, and the important role of district-wide committees in decision making. There’s also a function map to detail primary, secondary and shared responsibilities of the colleges and the district.

STRATEGIC PLAN 2011-2014 – This is the short term plan which details goals for the next three years.

EDUCATION AND FACILITIES MASTER PLAN 2011-2031 (DRAFT) – This details planning district-wide over the next 20 years. It is divided into five volumes: 1. SOCCCD Overview, 2. Saddleback College Education Plan, 3. Irvine Valley College Education Plan, 4. Saddleback College Facilities Plan and 5. Irvine Valley College Facilities Plan.

The draft is awaiting a CEQA clearance and then it will go the board for approval.
