H1N1 Update and Resources

Orange County and the rest of nation continue to see an increase in reported cases of H1N1 Swine Flu.  President Obama has declared a national emergency due to the threat posed to public health.  As a result, the Centers for Disease Control is attempting to distribute all available vaccine as quickly as possible to minimize and prevent the spread of the virus.  Locally, the Orange County Health Care Agency is setting-up clinics to dispense H1N1 vaccinations to the most vulnerable of our population, those between 2 and 9 years of age.

Communication from our campus public information offices will continue to provide updates to employees and students. Our campuses are doing an outstanding job in preparation and coordination for the H1N1 pandemic.  An excellent resource is the Saddleback College Health Alerts available from the college landing page, and the link at right.  Also, the State Chancellor's System Office has posted a video on You Tube that provides good information and common sense prevention techniques.  At right is a link to the video which is also posted on the main landing page of the district web site.
