CONGRATULATIONS

Saddleback College Class of 2008! 

 

 

There were 1,246 graduates in Class of 2008 who earned associate in arts degrees and associate in science degrees.  Also, 474 students earned certificates of achievement.  The commencement marked the college's 39th graduation ceremony.  The class was composed of 62% females and 38% males.  The youngest graduate was 18 years old, and the oldest was 73.

Trustee Marcia Milchiker earned an associate

of arts degree in Spanish.  She also holds

B.S. and M.S. degrees in biology. 

 
     
 
     

The commencement address was delivered by

Este Geraghty, M.D., M.S., M.P.H. who got her start on the Saddleback College Forensics Team.  She is an Internist and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of California, Davis. 

 

Students graduating with honors: 171 were cum laude with grade point averages of 3.5 to 3.74; 113 were magna cum laude with GPAs of 3.75 to 3.99; and 24 were summa cum laude with a GPA of 4.0.

CONGRATULATIONS

Irvine Valley College Class of 2008! 

There were 481 graduates in Class of 2008.  Associate of arts degrees were conferred to 421, associate of science degrees to 60, and 72 earned certificates of achievement.  The commencement marked the college's 23rd graduation ceremony.  The class was composed of 59% females and 41% males.  The youngest graduate was 14 years old, and the oldest was 59. 

 
     
 
     
 
     
 

Recognized during the ceremonies were: Full-time Teacher of the Year Dr. John Licitra, Part-time Teacher of the Year Jennifer Bailly, and Emeritus Teacher of the Year Pam Schader. 

     
 

The keynote speaker was Rueben Martinez, author, lecturer, and owner of Martinez Books and Art Gallery in Santa Ana and Lynwood. 

     

Students graduating with honors: 76 were cum laude with grade point averages of 3.5 to 3.74; 65 were magna cum laude with GPAs of 3.75 to 3.99; and 15 were summa cum laude with a GPA of 4.0.
