TRUSTEE NANCY M. PADBERG, Esq.

First elected in 1998 to a four-year term of office on the Board of Trustees, Nancy M. Padberg won her second uncontested and third four-year term of office in November 2006. She was installed into her third term of office in December 2006. In all the preceding eight years that she has served on the Board, she has held leadership roles as President, Vice President and Clerk.

Trustee Padberg is a member of the California State Bar, all State and Federal courts in the State of California , and the Federal Court of Appeals in Washington , D.C. Ms. Padberg received her BA degree in Sociology with a Psychology minor from Florida State University where she was a member of Phi Alpha honors society. Ms. Padberg holds a Masters Degree from the University of Chicago in Psychiatric Social Work and a Juris Doctorate degree from Western State University College of Law where she was honored with two prestigious American Jurisprudence Awards. Nancy serves as a Temporary Judge for the Superior Court of Orange County . A member of the LA County Bar and Orange County Bar Associations, she is an Arbitrator for the Orange County Bar Association and a member Orange County Bar's Arbitration section and Trusts and Estates sections. As President and General Partner of the firm Padberg & Associates, she practiced property and general law for the last fourteen years representing corporations and individuals.  Following a teaching career for the University of Illinois and UCLA Graduate School of Social Work, Nancy worked at UCI Medical Center training California State University-Long Beach graduate social work students and UCI medical students. She has published professionally while at UCI and as a Trustee.

 

Nancy was appointed by the City Council to serve on the San Clemente Growth Management Committee. Currently, Nancy serves on several other civic and professional associations. She has twice been a speaker at the Association of Community College Trustees national conventions and is a frequent guest speaker for local organizations. Ms. Padberg recently won an uncontested seat representing the 73rd Assembly District on the Orange County Republican Central Committee. Along with other community service groups, she is a member of CWLA, three local Republican Women's Federated clubs, Saddleback Republican Assembly, a Patron in the Laguna Woods Republican Club and the Dana Point Woman's Club.

Nancy and her husband Tom are twenty-four year residents of San Clemente . They have one daughter who is a graduate of Saddleback College and Platt College. Both Nancy and her husband Tom support the Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College Foundations. Trustee Padberg is the College District's Area 4 representative serving San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Coto de Caza, Los Flores, and certain unincorporated areas.
