Tere Fluegeman
Tere
Fluegeman is the Director of Public Affairs and Intergovernmental
Relations in the Office of the Chancellor. Since 2005, she
has served as the Director of Public Information and Marketing
at the Advanced Technology & Education Park (ATEP) in
Tustin, working with Saddleback College, Irvine Valley College
and the District to successfully launch the new campus. She
has won several awards for the district from the Public Relations
Society of America and the National Council on Marketing and
Public Relations. In December 2010, her peers voted her Outstanding
Manager of the Year.
Prior
to joining SOCCCD, Tere managed a marketing communications
firm for 14 years, serving clients such as the City of Los
Angeles Department of Water and Power, 2002 Winter Olympics,
municipalities, businesses and national consulting firms and
was a Project Manager for KPMG, European Director of Advanced
Programs for University of Oklahoma and European Coordinator
for Troy University.
Tere
has a B.A. in Journalism/Mass Communications from University
of Utah, a M.A. in Human Relations from University of Oklahoma,
and a post-graduate certification in Integrated Marketing
Communications from University of Utah.
Michael O’Meara
Michael O’Meara joined the Marketing Team in 2006. As the Graphic Designer for the District, he creates all of the promotional printed material for the District, as well as some marketing projects in support of our three campuses. Prior to joining SOCCCD, Michael was a designer and writer with Hobbs Herder Advertising in Newport Beach for several years, where he specialized in creating personal brochures and collateral marketing pieces for real estate professionals from across the country. Before that, he worked as an Art Director for Image Resources in Irvine, J.W. Terry and Associates in Tustin and Martin Lawrence Limited Editions in Van Nuys.
Michael is an experienced artist who has been in advertising since B.C. (Before Computers). Photography has been a hobby of Michael’s for decades. His work is seen throughout the website and in most of SOCCCD’s publications, including his scenes of Orange County. Michael studied journalism, photography and graphic design at California State University, Northridge where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design.
